Some studies have shown that chloroquine have antiviral properties that are able to fight againsst SARS-Cov-2, which is the virus that is responsible for Covid-19. This drug works by modifying the chemical environment of the cell membranes in the human body. By doing this, the virus is prevented from going inside the cells and multiply.
Studies have suggested that those who are treated with this medication experience a health benefit compared to those who weren’t. Patients who were given chloroquine experienced less severe covid-19 symptoms and recovered faster.
So as we are still waiting for a vaccine to be made against the virus, Chloroquine would be our weapon to fight off Covid-19.August 4, 2020 at 5:53 am #701

Personally, I think this drug is effective. President Trump did say that he had been taking hydroxychloroquine / chloroquine as a preventative measure against Covid-19. Even President Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil took the medication together with azithromycin when he was infected with the virus.August 4, 2020 at 9:26 am #704

Won’t this medication cause extreme side effects?August 9, 2020 at 4:36 am #713
Those who believe that this medication is ineffective also claims that this medication, besides being ineffective, also causes heart problems that could make your condition worse. But a study that involves a large number of participants for clinical trial (40,000 health care workers) have noted that the evidence from their trials does not support this.
So this means that hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine won’t cause heart conditions such as arrhythmia. Their safety concerns have just been exagerated. Don’t worry, these medications have been used for decades to treat malaria and rheumatological conditions and they have a very good record when it comes to safety.
