Hydrocortisone is in a class of medications called corticosteroids. It is used to treat a variety of skin conditions such as allergies, insect bites, rashes, and eczema. It works by activating natural substances in the skin that will then reduce the itchiness, redness, and swelling caused by these conditions.

This medication is intended only for the skin. This is not to be used on the face or underarms unless advised by your physician.

I have some cracks on the corners of my mouth. Would it be fine to use hydrocortisone cream on them?

No, hydrocortisone cream is not recommended to be used on cracked lips or skin. It would be best to use a healing ointment or lip balm to let the corners of your mouth to recover. If it persists, consult with your doctor so he could assess if the is an underlying health condition.
